Do you own or plan to buy Humminbird networkable fish finder/GPS units?
If so, i-Pilot Link would allow you to take advantage of all the technology Minn Kota and Humminbird have to offer. This gives you the ability to set routes for your motor from your fish finder(s) to go to waypoints, follow tracks, contours and even circle waypoints.
Are you running Garmin, Lowrance, or Non-Mapping Fish Finders?
In this case, you’d likely be best to stick with just i-Pilot. Without a networkable Humminbird unit, you end up losing the advantages of Link. If there’s any chance you might add or upgrade to a mapping Humminbird, then you may want to consider Link because there is no upgradeable option once you purchase standard i-Pilot. If you buy an i-Pilot trolling motor and wanted to get Link, you’d have to purchase an all new motor entirely.
